Multidisciplinary visual artist
(E)lizabeth considers herself an amalgamation of many outside influences. She thrives when creating in multiple mediums. Mosaic, textile, painting, altered journals and bookbinding is woven into her daily practice where she cultivates a fertile ground for new pieces and ideas to come through. Her rhythm of life is guided by a strong spirit, intently observing her surroundings and creating from a place of intuition.
E’s work in mosaic has been primarily influenced by her past dance career. Now she is motivated by garden critters, flowers and birds. Her clay work also brings delightful surprises for the garden.
She has worked in textile most of her life and has found a new love in bookbinding. Her altered journals are repurposed magazines turned into painted pages of thoughts and energy.
Currently, E has been drawn to paint portraits of many people.
“Listening to the sound within has brought me to draw and paint our homeless community and the beautiful Afghan people. I am always a work in progress, I try everyday to stay in sync with this rhythm of life, the ups and the downs, so the creative potential in me is unleashed to its fullest.”
E also tends a large urban garden in the front yard of her historical home in downtown Orlando, Florida. She manages time between family, friends, garden and studio.
